MODULO CLASSIC 250/300 is a compact wort machine which includes all necessary equipment to produce 295-354 liters of wort (needed for production approximately 250-300 liters of beer) in one brew batch from malt (or malt extract or wort concentrate), hops and water. The wort brew machine is the main part of the BREWORX MODULO CLASSIC 250/300 modular breweries.

The wort is an intermediate product in the beer production process. The next phase of the production cycle is fermentation and maturation of wort. This way the final product – beer is produced.

MODULO CLASSIC 250/300 brewhouse wort machine is a variation of the wort brew machine BREWORX CLASSIC 300. But in comparation with CLASSIC 300 brewhouse we delivery the MODULO CLASSIC 250/300 wort brew machine fully assembled on the basic stainless steel frame with all fittings needed to connection with other parts of the MODULO brewery using special hoses. Therefore there is not needed to install the brew machine by our technical specialists on the place. The installation is provided by customer – this way we save his costs.

MODULO CLASSIC 250/300 wort brew machine includes in standard :

  • Malt mashing tank & wort boiling tank – Heated vessel for the mixing of the squeezed malt in water, boiling of malt mash (mashing of malt) and the boiling of filtered wort with hops.
  • Lauter tun – The wort filtering tank – tank with special sieve for the filtration of malt mash (separation of liquid wort from solid parts of malt)
  • Whirlpool tank – Tank equipped with a tangential inlet for centrifugal separation of solid parts from hopped wort. This tank is placed under the wort filtering tank.

Main advantages of the MODULO CLASSIC 250/300 wort brew machine compared with brewhouses of other manufacturers

    1. MODULO CLASSSIC 250/300 is a compact standardized wort brew machine that is based on a common stainless steel frame. The machine is easily transportable in one unit, or it can be broken down into three smaller blocks.
    2. Our wort brew machine allows the production of almost all types of beers, which are known in Europe and the USA. The MODULO CLASSIC 250/300 brewhouse allows the production of beer using both infusion or decoction method.
    3. The whirlpool tank is integrated under the wort filtering tank. This solution saves space in a brewery (valid only for wort brew machines with volume lower than 250-300 liters)
    4. The dosage of the raw materials is carried out at the beginning of the brewing process. Brewer master does not need to intervene in the brewing process (only automatic version).
    5. Two options of wort lautering – gravitational (first phase) and by pump (second phase).
    6. The electrical switchgear and the control computer are integrated in the body of the machine. This solution greatly eliminates the required amount of electrical wiring and electrical work on site.
    7. An elimination of the negative influence of water conductivity on beer quality using the deionization belt.
    8. The brewhouse construction allows you to start mashing of the second batch during a last phase of the first batch – it speeds up the double-batches brewing process.
    9. The placement of the lower engine agitator under the bottom of the brewhouse prevents dripping of grease into the brewhouse.
    10. Easy access to all controls and flaps.
    11. The unique glass one-hand doors on both tanks. Overpressure manholes may not be opened during wort production, while a slight overpressure in the wort brew machine accelerates the brewing process.
    12. Exactly calculated sizes of containers to minimize oxidation of wort.
    13. An automatic ejection of waste grains.
    14. Removable segment sieve with trapezoidal holes allows the perfect lautering of wort. High load capacity of the sieve
    15. The possibility of producing beer from barley malt and wheat malt. The brewhouse wort machine allows also production beer from malt extract or wort concentrates.

Options and properties

 

Two raw materials for production of beer wort :

  • Classical raw materials : Malt + hops + drinking water + brewer’s yeast + (optionally other ingrediences)
  • Beer concentrates : Malt extract + hops + drinking water + brewer’s yeast + (optionally other ingrediences)

 

Four production capacities of the brewhouse :

  • 295-354 liters of beer wort per day – one batch within 12 hours – source raw materials are malt or malt extract, hops, drinking water and brewer’s yeast
  • 590-708 liters of beer wort per day – two batches within 24 hours – source raw materials are malt or malt extract, hops, drinking water and brewer’s yeast
  • 885-1062 liters of beer wort per day – three batches within 24 hours – source raw materials are malt extract, hops, drinking water and brewer’s yeast
  • 1180-1416 liters of beer wort per day – four batches within 24 hours – source raw materials are malt extract, hops, drinking water and brewer’s yeast

 

Two available heating systems :

  • EH : Electrical heating version – The heating of the kettle is performed using an integrated electric heating elements and the heat transfer system using an oil vat that are included in the price of the machine.
  • SH : Steam heating version – The heating of the kettle is performed using an external hot steam generator that is not included in the price of the machine.

 

Special functions :

  • CIP function – the special mode ensures cleaning, sanitization and sterilization of the brewhouse, wort pipes and optionally also other devices in the brewery

 


What the SACS semi-automatic control system includes

The semi-automatic control system is part of the wort brew machine in the basic version (manual control) and it is included in the price of the brewhouse.

  • In semi-automatic mode, the operator can adjust the exact amount of water to fill the brewhouse.
  • The operator can set up to 4 different heating steps (temperature in ° C). Everything is showed and controled simply on the touchscreen.
  • The PLC system also controls the brewing pump speed.
    The operator can adjust the volumes of liquids and mashes that he needs pump into containers.
  • The operator can adjust the amount of water he needs to fill into the boiling vessel.
  • In the wort filtering process, the system automatically senses the underpressure under the sieve and controls the suction speed of the pump to prevent malt spent grains from being squeezed on the sieve – preventing sieve clogging.
  • In the wort cooling process, the system automatically regulates the wort flow rate across the plate heat exchanger to achieve a constant desired wort temperature at the cooler outlet to the fermenters.
  • The centrifugal pump is equipped with an induction flow meter connected to the PLC.
  • Pneumatic valves are fitted to the water inlet and steam inlet in the brewhouse, they can be operated from the touch screen.
  • A pulse flowmeter is installed at the water inlet of the brewhouse.
  • All remaining valves and flaps are operated manually by the operator. Their current status is not shown on the display.

 

The control system may work in two modes :

  1. Fully manual control
  2. Semi-automatic control

The operator can freely switch between the two modes.

Malt Mill MM-80

MM-80 : Mill for malt 80 kg/hr

Electrical mill for squeezing of malt with production capacity from 60 to 80 kg milled malt per hour, for preparation of malt before production of beer. The simplest electrical mill for malt for brewing purposes.

ESG-26MWT : Electric steam-generator

Electric and automatic hot steam-generator ESG-26MWT with power from 2 kW to 22 kW (from 9 to 26 kg of hot steam per hour), steam pressure from 1 to 7 bar. The Modulo ESG system includes water treatment set, electric switchboard cabinet and all pipe&electric connections.

WCASB-300 : Compact wort cooler and wort aerator 300 l/hr

Two-stage tabular heat exchanger intended for cooling of the wort from 98 ° C to 7 ° C using 15 ° C and 1 ° C water before starting of beer fermentation process. The plate heat exchanger and the aeration candle are attached to a stainless steel panel which is equipped with temperature sensors and digital displays.

WCU-400 : Compact wort cooling unit with cold water tank 400 liters

Special module, which integrates the heat exchanger unit for cooling of the wort, stone for aeration of the wort and the storage ice water tank 400 liters with an independent cooling unit on a shared frame with the wheels and adjustable legs. Ice water for cooling of the wort is preprared in a stainless steel insulated tank and is ready for use.

WCUHWT-400 : Compact wort cooling unit with hot/cold water tanks 2×400 liters

Special module, which integrates the unit for cooling of the wort consists of heat exchanger, ice water tank 400 liters and independent water cooler for cooling of the wort, stone for aeration of the wort and the hot water tank 400 liters on a shared frame with the wheels and adjustable legs. Hot water that we receive from cooling of the wort in the first stage of cooling (in the plate heat exchanger integrated in the brewhouse) is collected in a stainless steel insulated tank and is ready for use. Most often brewers use the hot water for preparing the next batch of brewing, but also when washing and sanitizing other equipment in microbrewery. This recuperation of waste heat from wort cooling contributes to substantial savings in production costs.

FUIC-CHP2C-2x250CCT : Compact beer fermentation unit 2×250/292 liters

The compact unit for the beer fermentation and maturation process with integrated cooling BREWORX MODULO FUIC-CHP1C-2x250CCT is an independent mobile equipment with two fermenters type of cylindrical-conical tanks 2x 250 liters (total capacity 2×295 liters) The FUIC unit includes everything what is necessary to the main fermentation of beer, to the beer maturation under pressure, to an isobaric filling beer into kegs or bottles or to serving beer into drink glasses directly from the fermenters that are included in this unit.
