Description
RAPT Pill 2in1 is a miniature hydrometer and thermometer in a pill-shape case (connection to mobile phone or computer via Wifi and Bluetooth).
The RAPT Pill enables real-time recording and control of specific gravity and temperature of liquid via wifi/BlueTooth integration with the RAPT fermentation fridge, RAPT mobile app or RAPT IoT.
The RAPT Pill has a long battery life and can last 2-5 months between charges when using Wifi. If you only use Bluetooth, the battery can last up to 2 years before needing to be recharged. The RAPT Pill has a USB-C charging port on the circuit board that allows fast charging from any USB-C cable.
How long does it last between charges?
- Telemetry frequency 60 min – 1.5 years
- Telemetry frequency 30 min – 9.5 months
- Telemetry frequency 15 minutes – 5 months
NOTE: The default telemetry frequency is 60 minutes, so unless you change the settings, the battery should last approximately 1.5 years out of the box.
The RAPT is universal and compatible with most standard fermenters, Cornelius barrels, stainless steel fermenters and pressure fermenters. The housing design boasts many advantages compared to other wireless hydrometers:
Made of strong BPA Free Nylon 12 and Polyketone (POK) – suitable for use in the food industry, without plasticizers and phthalates. Nylon 12 and POK are also resistant to high temperatures, chemically resistant and extremely robust.
Greater ergonomics – The shape of the RAPT has been designed for better usability compared to other wireless hydrometers, so the case splits into two pieces in the middle. With its dimensions of approximately 37mm x 125mm, it fits almost anywhere!
Sanitary design – RAPT Pill has no exposed thread. A double O-ring seal allows for a watertight seal with reduced risk of infection.
Less prone to error – The RAPT’s larger housing compared to other wireless hydrometers means that the recording is less prone to errors caused by hops or CO2 bubbles from fermentation.
What is RAPT? The RAPT IOT Hub is a free service that allows any RAPT-enabled product to record and store data in a hub where you can conveniently access that data. The RAPT hub also allows you to control your device remotely, giving you absolute control over your device no matter where you are. The RAPT portal allows you to create complex temperature profiles that include different temperature settings over time. The RAPT portal also manages the alert/notification process for you, so you can receive email alerts if something goes wrong. There is no limit to the number of RAPT devices you can connect to the RAPT IOT Hub. This is unlike other popular wireless hydrometers where you are limited by the number of hydrometers you can connect to the app.
Note: The RAPT pill is fully compatible with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Currently, it can be fully integrated with wifi. Bluetooth integration will be enabled with a later firmware update.
