Filter plates for the plate filtration of beverages
How does plate filtration of drinks work?
Plate filtration of beverages works on the principle of flowing the beverage through filter plates that capture solid particles and yeast contained in the beverage. The sharpness of the filtration (that is, how strongly the drink is filtered in individual steps) is proportional to the size of the pores in the filter plate.
Filtration usually takes place gradually in several steps, when the drink is first filtered through plates with larger pores (coarse filtration) and then through plates with smaller pores (medium, fine and ultrafine filtration).
Plate filters – filters for plate filtration of drinks from our production
It is possible to filter the drink up to the level of microfiltration if plates with ultra-small pores are used. However, special candle microfilters are usually recommended for the microfiltration of the drink, because with plate filtration it is time- and space-consuming to maintain the filter plates in a sterile environment, as well as to handle them without the risk of their contamination.
