Description
The PCO2M-AS analog dissolved CO2 meter is a portable measuring device designed to determine carbondioxide content in beer, sparkling water, sparkling wine or other carbonated beverages, in fermenters, pressure beverage storage tanks or kegs. Carbondioxide content is determined thanks to the measurement of the balance value of temperature and pressure after the mechanical fluttering of gas dissolved in beverage. CO2 content is read on a nomogram which is a part of measuring device supply.
This simplified version does not include a shock piston. The mechanical releasing of gas from a beverage is made by manual shaking the device.

Delivery time : Usualy 1-2 weeks.
How the measurement takes place ?
Preceding measurement the operator connects the device (using a rubber flexible hose) to the pressure beverage storage tank or the fermenter or to a special adapted head for a keg. The optional special head makes it possible to attain a necessary overpressure in the KEG cask securing sample withdrawal. The operator fills a vessel by measured sample of beverage (using the ball valves). The mechanical releasing of gas from a beverage is made by manual shaking the device. After attaining a balance the operator can simply read the balance value of the pressure and the temperature. CO2 content can be read on the nomogram. You can modify the formula for the calculation of the CO2 content in specific drinks.
Maintenance and cleaning
The device upkeep is easy and fast. Cleaning the device is comfortable and consists of connecting this device to a water pressure distribution with open ball valves and in a parallel depression of a button placed on the top of a device during the circulation of water. The operator holds the equipment in a vertical position during circulation of water so that the whole vessel can be filled by water. After cleaning you disconnect the device from the water cock and you remove the rest of the rinsing water by turning the device upside down. During the whole time of handling this device during measurement and cleaning the operator has this device hanging by a sling on his neck therefore the operator has both hands free during the measurement.
Technical parameters:
- Range of CO2 measurement: 2 to 7.8 g/l or in volume 1% – 4%
- Range of temperature measurement: -3 to +30 °C (26-86°F)
- Range of pressure measurement: 0 to 400 kPa ( 0-4 bars or 0-58 psi )
- Accuracy of CO2 content measurement: 0.2 g/l or 0.1 volume (+ /- 0,1 %)
- Accuracy of temperature measurement: 0.5 °C (0.9°F)
- Accuracy of pressure measurement: 1.6 kPa
- Dimensions : H x W x D : 245 x 210 x 130 mm
- Weight : 1.8 kg
Range of supply:
- Measuring device
- Interconnecting little hoses (two pieces)
- Special head for sampling from kegs (optionaly)
- Nomogram for determination of the CO2 content from measured values
- User’s guide
Principle of measurement:
The device is based on the Henry law principle. Carbondioxide level in a bottle is determined by measurement of the balanced value of temperature and pressure after the mechanical release of dissolved CO2 gas.
How to find out level of the CO2 content from temperature and pressure measured ?
Match the pressure and temperature readings on the nomogram and you can simply read the CO2 content :
