FS-HBC2 : The HOP BONG CARBO – Small plastic flow saturator 2 µm for carbonation of beer, cider, lemonade, wine, water

The HOP BONG CARBO is used for flow-through saturation of beer, cider, wine, lemonade or water with carbon dioxide. It is an ideal carbonation device, for example, when pumping a beverage from a fermentation vessel (e.g. FermZilla, Kegmenter, stainless steel tank) into a cuvette or keg. The maximum recommended CO₂ pressure is 2.5 bar (36.3 PSI). For best efficiency, it is recommended to place the device in the refrigerator during carbonation and cool the beverage to a maximum temperature of 2°C before carbonation, which greatly supports the ability to absorb CO₂ bubbles into the beverage.

The HOP BONG CARBO can also be used for rapid carbonation of a beverage – using a pump that ensures the circulation of the cooled unsaturated beverage from the beverage container, through the saturator back to the container.
The saturator can also be used to oxygenate the wort during pumping from the brewhouse to the fermentation vessel.
The saturator includes the plastic sight glass pipe (HOP BONG) , which is resistant to chemicals, high temperatures and pressure up to 10 bar. The set also includes a 2-micron aeration stone for effective saturation of the beverage with gas.

The level of saturation of the beverage with carbon dioxide can be significantly influenced by 5 parameters:
– Temperature of the beverage and gas: The colder the beverage and gas, the more it is possible to saturate the beverage.
– Gas pressure: The greater the gas pressure, the more it is possible to saturate the beverage.
– Flow rate of the beverage through the saturator: The lower the speed of the beverage through the saturator, the more it is possible to saturate the beverage.
– Time : More passes of the beverage through the saturator mean a higher level of CO₂ saturation of the beverage.
– Oxygen content in the beverage: The less dissolved oxygen the beverage contains, the more it is possible to saturate the beverage.
